The Gospel is simple. God reached down to love us and we respond by reaching up to love Him. We also reach out to love others. Jesus explained that the greatest commandment is to love God. The second greatest is to love others. God also tells us that true religion is taking care of the helpless. That is straightforward. That is simple Christianity.
